Warranty Policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
What is covered as standard
Every watch we sell carries a minimum one-year warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects and mechanical or movement faults that appear in normal use.
Some models carry longer — two to five years, depending on the model. Where a watch has longer cover, it is stated on that watch's product page. The product page is always the authority: if it says three years, you have three years, regardless of the minimum above.
Products other than watches
Bags, wallets, home goods and other products carry a warranty only where the product page states one, and on the terms it states. Beauty, skincare and fragrance products are not covered by a warranty. Anything that arrives faulty, damaged or wrong is covered by our Refund Policy instead.
Extending your warranty
You can add one or two additional years of cover to most watches for a fee, selected on the product page before you add the watch to your cart. The extension runs on from the end of the standard warranty rather than alongside it, and covers the same faults on the same terms.
An extension has to be bought with the watch. We cannot add cover to an order that has already been placed.
What is not covered
The warranty covers faults, not damage. It does not cover:
- Physical damage — drops, knocks, crushing, or a cracked glass or case
- Water damage, including on water-resistant models used beyond their stated rating
- Normal wear and tear: scratches, scuffs, fading, worn plating, or a strap that has aged through use
- Straps, buckles, pins and batteries, which are consumable parts
- Any watch opened, serviced, modified or repaired by anyone other than us or a repairer we have authorised
- Loss or theft
- Watches bought anywhere other than Ceylon Trends
A water-resistance rating describes a watch when new and sealed. It is not a permanent property — seals age — so it is not a guarantee against water damage over the life of the watch.
Making a claim
- File a claim online, or call or WhatsApp us, with yourorder number and a description of the fault. Photos or a short video of the problem help us a great deal.
- We will tell you whether it looks like a warranty fault and how to get the watch to us.
- Send or bring in the watch, with the original box and any papers you received with it.
- We inspect it. If it is a fault covered by the warranty we repair it, or replace the watch if it cannot be repaired, at no charge to you.
To claim, the watch must be undamaged apart from the fault itself and must still be identifiable as the watch on your order. We may ask for proof of purchase, which is the order number or the invoice email we sent when your order was dispatched — worth keeping for this reason.
If an inspection finds the problem is not covered — impact or water damage, for example — we will tell you before doing anything, along with what a repair would cost, and you decide whether to go ahead.
Turnaround
Most warranty repairs are completed within two to three weeks. Where a part has to be ordered from the manufacturer it can take longer, and we will keep you informed rather than leaving you to chase us.
A fault straight out of the box
If a watch arrives faulty or is not what you ordered, that is not a warranty claim — contact us within 48 hours of delivery and see our Refund Policy. We replace or refund those, and we pay the return delivery.
